+Prerequisites:

+  Required:
+
+    - Python 2.3 or newer (see http://www.python.org)
+
+    - OpenLDAP 2.4.11+ client libs (see http://www.openldap.org)
+      It is not possible and not supported
+      by the python-ldap project to build with prior versions.
+
+  Optional dependencies of OpenLDAP libs:
+
+    - Cyrus SASL 2.1.x or newer (see http://asg.web.cmu.edu/sasl/sasl-library.html)
+
+    - OpenSSL 0.9.7 or newer (see http://www.openssl.org)

+    - MIT Kerberos or heimdal libs
