From 1bd81b9699135a92952901de60280a582f2e4847 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Ruby Loo Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2017 16:45:48 -0400 Subject: [PATCH] [doc] update ironic's landing page This updates ironic's landing page https://docs.openstack.org/ironic/latest/ so that: - it isn't only for developer documentation - the sections are reordered to better reflect the order of information from new user to experienced developer - a user guide entry was added (since there is user documentation) - the releasenotes/index.rst was removed since it was a placeholder to redirect links to new locations. Due to the doc migrations, that original URL doesn't exist anymore anyway, so this page should not be bookmarked so we don't need to keep it - the section names are more consistent - the User Guide and Administrator Guide sections have links to subsections - removed a link to , which doesn't exist Change-Id: I413048526f96a8c11eb7da365b935f617307de10 --- doc/source/index.rst | 87 ++++++++++++------------------- doc/source/releasenotes/index.rst | 46 ---------------- 2 files changed, 34 insertions(+), 99 deletions(-) delete mode 100644 doc/source/releasenotes/index.rst diff --git a/doc/source/index.rst b/doc/source/index.rst index 296165ac30..45ac090c1c 100644 --- a/doc/source/index.rst +++ b/doc/source/index.rst @@ -1,6 +1,6 @@ -============================================ -Welcome to Ironic's developer documentation! -============================================ +================================== +Welcome to Ironic's documentation! +================================== Introduction ============ @@ -16,54 +16,25 @@ with a unified interface to a heterogeneous fleet of servers while also providing the Compute service with an interface that allows physical servers to be managed as though they were virtual machines. -:doc:`An introduction to ironic's conceptual architecture ` -is available for those new to the project. - -Site Notes ----------- - -This site is primarily intended to provide documentation for developers -interested in contributing to or working with ironic.
