Dan Smith ae7a4d5196 Make compute nodes update their own inventory records ...

This makes the scheduler client "library" do its own inventory management.
We can't zero the legacy fields yet because we need the scheduler to
continue to work from those fields while we establish a base of the computes
doing inventory management.
