Patch Set 3:

This adds back dstat and preselections, and should restore feature parity with the current timeline.

Selection changes are now handled properly, so the viewport will automatically move to focus on any selected item, even if it's off screen. It's also a bit smarter and keeps the current direction in mind when moving the viewport, so it shouldn't be disorienting for keyboard nav. As a side effect, 'normally' selecting an item by clicking will also automatically move it fully into view, which is nice.

I haven't implemented date lookup functionality yet - I think I'll do that in a follow-up patch, so this can be considered non-WIP.
