The architecture is based on CASL (Cache Accelerated Sequential Layout) where random writes are coalesced in NVRAM + flushed to disks sequentially, with the flash/SSD as read acceleration cache. CASL architecture provides non-disruptive upgrade for compute (processer/memory), cache (flash SSDs), capacity (disk shelves) as well as scale-out where up to four nodes of Nimble controllers can be clustered.",
