Retire repository
Fuel repositories are all retired in openstack namespace, retire remaining fuel repos in x namespace since they are unused now. This change removes all content from the repository and adds the usual README file to point out that the repository is retired following the process from https://docs.openstack.org/infra/manual/drivers.html#retiring-a-project See also http://lists.openstack.org/pipermail/openstack-discuss/2019-December/011675.html A related change is: https://review.opendev.org/699752 . TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR USE, REPRODUCTION, AND DISTRIBUTION
1. Definitions.
"License" shall mean the terms and conditions for use, reproduction,
and distribution as defined by Sections 1 through 9 of this document.
"Licensor" shall mean the copyright owner or entity authorized by
the copyright owner that is granting the License.
"Legal Entity" shall mean the union of the acting entity and all
other entities that control, are controlled by, or are under common
control with that entity. For the purposes of this definition,
"control" means (i) the power, direct or indirect, to cause the
direction or management of such entity, whether by contract or
otherwise, or (ii) ownership of fifty percent (50%) or more of the
outstanding shares, or (iii) beneficial ownership of such entity.
"You" (or "Your") shall mean an individual or Legal Entity
exercising permissions granted by this License.
"Source" form shall mean the preferred form for making modifications,
including but not limited to software source code, documentation
source, and configuration files.
"Object" form shall mean any form resulting from mechanical
transformation or translation of a Source form, including but
not limited to compiled object code, generated documentation,
and conversions to other media types.
"Work" shall mean the work of authorship, whether in Source or
Object form, made available under the License, as indicated by a
copyright notice that is included in or attached to the work
(an example is provided in the Appendix below).
"Derivative Works" shall mean any work, whether in Source or Object
form, that is based on (or derived from) the Work and for which the
editorial revisions, annotations, elaborations, or other modifications
represent, as a whole, an original work of authorship. For the purposes
of this License, Derivative Works shall not include works that remain
separable from, or merely link (or bind by name) to the interfaces of,
the Work and Derivative Works thereof.
"Contribution" shall mean any work of authorship, including
the original version of the Work and any modifications or additions
to that Work or Derivative Works thereof, that is intentionally
submitted to Licensor for inclusion in the Work by the copyright owner
or by an individual or Legal Entity authorized to submit on behalf of
the copyright owner. For the purposes of this definition, "submitted"
means any form of electronic, verbal, or written communication sent
to the Licensor or its representatives, including but not limited to
communication on electronic mailing lists, source code control systems,
and issue tracking systems that are managed by, or on behalf of, the
Licensor for the purpose of discussing and improving the Work, but
excluding communication that is conspicuously marked or otherwise
designated in writing by the copyright owner as "Not a Contribution."
"Contributor" shall mean Licensor and any individual or Legal Entity
on behalf of whom a Contribution has been received by Licensor and
subsequently incorporated within the Work.
2. Grant of Copyright License. Subject to the terms and conditions of
this License, each Contributor hereby grants to You a perpetual,
worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable
copyright license to reproduce, prepare Derivative Works of,
publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute the
Work and such Derivative Works in Source or Object form.
3. Grant of Patent License. Subject to the terms and conditions of
this License, each Contributor hereby grants to You a perpetual,
worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable
(except as stated in this section) patent license to make, have made,
use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer the Work,
where such license applies only to those patent claims licensable
by such Contributor that are necessarily infringed by their
Contribution(s) alone or by combination of their Contribution(s)
with the Work to which such Contribution(s) was submitted. If You
institute patent litigation against any entity (including a
cross-claim or counterclaim in a lawsuit) alleging that the Work
or a Contribution incorporated within the Work constitutes direct
or contributory patent infringement, then any patent licenses
granted to You under this License for that Work shall terminate
as of the date such litigation is filed.
4. Redistribution. You may reproduce and distribute copies of the
Work or Derivative Works thereof in any medium, with or without
modifications, and in Source or Object form, provided that You
meet the following conditions:
(a) You must give any other recipients of the Work or
Derivative Works a copy of this License; and
(b) You must cause any modified files to carry prominent notices
stating that You changed the files; and
(c) You must retain, in the Source form of any Derivative Works
that You distribute, all copyright, patent, trademark, and
attribution notices from the Source form of the Work,
excluding those notices that do not pertain to any part of
the Derivative Works; and
(d) If the Work includes a "NOTICE" text file as part of its
distribution, then any Derivative Works that You distribute must
include a readable copy of the attribution notices contained
within such NOTICE file, excluding those notices that do not
pertain to any part of the Derivative Works, in at least one
of the following places: within a NOTICE text file distributed
as part of the Derivative Works; within the Source form or
documentation, if provided along with the Derivative Works; or,
within a display generated by the Derivative Works, if and
wherever such third-party notices normally appear. The contents
of the NOTICE file are for informational purposes only and
do not modify the License. You may add Your own attribution
notices within Derivative Works that You distribute, alongside
or as an addendum to the NOTICE text from the Work, provided
that such additional attribution notices cannot be construed
as modifying the License.
You may add Your own copyright statement to Your modifications and
may provide additional or different license terms and conditions
for use, reproduction, or distribution of Your modifications, or
for any such Derivative Works as a whole, provided Your use,
reproduction, and distribution of the Work otherwise complies with
the conditions stated in this License.
5. Submission of Contributions. Unless You explicitly state otherwise,
any Contribution intentionally submitted for inclusion in the Work
by You to the Licensor shall be under the terms and conditions of
this License, without any additional terms or conditions.
Notwithstanding the above, nothing herein shall supersede or modify
the terms of any separate license agreement you may have executed
with Licensor regarding such Contributions.
6. Trademarks. This License does not grant permission to use the trade
names, trademarks, service marks, or product names of the Licensor,
except as required for reasonable and customary use in describing the
origin of the Work and reproducing the content of the NOTICE file.
7. Disclaimer of Warranty. Unless required by applicable law or
agreed to in writing, Licensor provides the Work (and each
Contributor provides its Contributions) on an "AS IS" BASIS,
WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, either express or
implied, including, without limitation, any warranties or conditions
of TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, or FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE. You are solely responsible for determining the
appropriateness of using or redistributing the Work and assume any
risks associated with Your exercise of permissions under this License.
8. Limitation of Liability. In no event and under no legal theory,
whether in tort (including negligence), contract, or otherwise,
unless required by applicable law (such as deliberate and grossly
negligent acts) or agreed to in writing, shall any Contributor be
liable to You for damages, including any direct, indirect, special,
incidental, or consequential damages of any character arising as a
result of this License or out of the use or inability to use the
Work (including but not limited to damages for loss of goodwill,
work stoppage, computer failure or malfunction, or any and all
other commercial damages or losses), even if such Contributor
has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
9. Accepting Warranty or Additional Liability. While redistributing
the Work or Derivative Works thereof, You may choose to offer,
and charge a fee for, acceptance of support, warranty, indemnity,
or other liability obligations and/or rights consistent with this
License. However, in accepting such obligations, You may act only
on Your own behalf and on Your sole responsibility, not on behalf
of any other Contributor, and only if You agree to indemnify,
defend, and hold each Contributor harmless for any liability
incurred by, or claims asserted against, such Contributor by reason
of your accepting any such warranty or additional liability.
END OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS
APPENDIX: How to apply the Apache License to your work.
To apply the Apache License to your work, attach the following
boilerplate notice, with the fields enclosed by brackets "{}"
replaced with your own identifying information. (Don't include
the brackets!) The text should be enclosed in the appropriate
comment syntax for the file format. We also recommend that a
file or class name and description of purpose be included on the
same "printed page" as the copyright notice for easier
identification within third-party archives.

Ceilometer Redis plugin
=======================
Provides a mechanism to allow Ceilometer agents to be horizontally scaled out
and to balance workload between corresponding agents. The current plugin version
provides this mechanism *only* for Central agent.
Building the plugin
-------------------
1. Clone the fuel-plugin repo:
``git clone https://review.openstack.org/openstack/fuel-plugin-ceilometer-redis``
2. Install the Fuel Plugin Builder:
``pip install fuel-plugin-builder``
3. Build Ceilometer Redis Fuel plugin:
``fpb --build fuel-plugin-ceilometer-redis/``
4. The ceilometer-redis-<x.x.x>.rpm plugin package will be created in the plugin folder
(fuel-plugin-ceilometer-redis/).
5. Move this file to the Fuel Master node with secure copy (scp):
``scp fuel-plugin-ceilometer-redis/ceilometer-redis-<x.x.x>.rpm root@:<the_Fuel_Master_node_IP address>:/tmp``
``ssh root@:<the_Fuel_Master_node_IP address>``
``cd /tmp``
6. Install the Ceilometer Redis plugin:
``fuel plugins --install ceilometer-redis-<x.x.x>.rpm``
7. Plugin is ready to be used and can be enabled on the Settings tab of the Fuel web UI.

#Redis Module for Puppet
[![puppet-redis](https://img.shields.io/puppetforge/v/fsalum/redis.svg)](https://forge.puppetlabs.com/fsalum/redis) [![Build Status](https://travis-ci.org/fsalum/puppet-redis.svg?branch=master)](https://travis-ci.org/fsalum/puppet-redis)
This module installs and manages a Redis server. All redis.conf options are
accepted in the parameterized class.
##Important
If you are upgrading this module from 0.x to 1.0+, please test it carefully
outside production as it is not fully backwards compatible.
Some class parameters were added, removed or had their default values changed.
The redis.conf template has been completely rewritten to support Redis 2.2+ to 2.8+.
##Operating System
Tested on CentOS 6.5, Ubuntu Saucy/Trusty/Precise, Debian 7.4
redis.conf options compatible with Redis 2.2, 2.4, 2.6, 2.8
##Quick Start
Use the default parameters:
class { 'redis': }
To change the port and listening network interface:
class { 'redis':
conf_port => '6379',
conf_bind => '0.0.0.0',
}
##Parameters
Check the [init.pp](https://github.com/fsalum/puppet-redis/blob/master/manifests/init.pp) file for a complete list of parameters accepted.
* custom sysctl
To enable and set important Linux kernel sysctl parameters as described in the [Redis Admin Guide](http://redis.io/topics/admin) - use the following configuration option:
class { 'redis':
system_sysctl => true
}
By default, this sysctl parameter will not be enabled. Furthermore, you will need the sysctl module defined in the [Modulefile](https://github.com/fsalum/puppet-redis/blob/master/Modulefile) file.
* service restart
If you need to execute a controlled restart of redis after changes due master/slave relationships to avoid that both are restarted at the same time use the parameter below.
class { 'redis':
service_restart => false
}
By default service restart is true.
#Sentinel
This module supports Redis Sentinel that comes with Redis 2.8+ with all the configuration parameters.
It manages upstart scripts (can be deactivated with parameter manage_upstart_scripts = false).
##Operating System
Tested on Ubuntu 14.04 with Redis 2.8
##Quick Start
Example:
class { redis::sentinel:
conf_port => '26379',
sentinel_confs => {
'mymaster' => {
'monitor' => '127.0.0.1 6379 2',
'down-after-milliseconds' => '60000',
'failover-timeout' => 180000,
'notification-script' => '/etc/redis/scripts/thescript.py',
'parallel-syncs' => '3',
},
'resque' => {
'monitor' => '127.0.0.1 6379 4',
'down-after-milliseconds' => '10000',
'failover-timeout' => 180000,
'notification-script' => '/etc/redis/scripts/thescript.py',

# Redis Service (redis-server)

# Description:

# Redis is an open source, BSD licensed, advanced key-value cache and store.

# It is often referred to as a data structure server since keys can contain

# strings, hashes, lists, sets, sorted sets, bitmaps and hyperloglogs.

# Note that whatever is the ODOWN quorum, a Sentinel will require to

# Useful if there is a password set in the Redis instances to monitor.

#

# Note that the master password is also used for slaves, so it is not

# if you want to be able to monitor these instances with Sentinel.

#

# However you can have Redis instances without the authentication enabled

#

# Specifies the failover timeout in milliseconds. It is used in many ways:

#
# - The time needed to re-start a failover after a previous failover was
# already tried against the same master by a given Sentinel, is two
# times the failover timeout.
#
# - The time needed for a slave replicating to a wrong master according
# to a Sentinel current configuration, to be forced to replicate
# with the right master, is exactly the failover timeout (counting since
# the moment a Sentinel detected the misconfiguration).
#
# - The time needed to cancel a failover that is already in progress but
# did not produced any configuration change (SLAVEOF NO ONE yet not
# acknowledged by the promoted slave).
#
# - The maximum time a failover in progress waits for all the slaves to be
# reconfigured as slaves of the new master. However even after this time
# the slaves will be reconfigured by the Sentinels anyway, but not with
# the exact parallel-syncs progression as specified.

# SCRIPTS EXECUTION
#
# sentinel notification-script and sentinel reconfig-script are used in order
# to configure scripts that are called to notify the system administrator
# or to reconfigure clients after a failover. The scripts are executed
# with the following rules for error handling:
#
# If script exits with "1" the execution is retried later (up to a maximum
# number of times currently set to 10).
#
# If script exits with "2" (or an higher value) the script execution is
# not retried.
#
# If script terminates because it receives a signal the behavior is the same
# as exit code 1.
#
# A script has a maximum running time of 60 seconds. After this limit is
# reached the script is terminated with a SIGKILL and the execution retried.
# NOTIFICATION SCRIPT
#
# sentinel notification-script <master-name> <script-path>
#
# Call the specified notification script for any sentinel event that is
# generated in the WARNING level (for instance -sdown, -odown, and so forth).
# This script should notify the system administrator via email, SMS, or any
# other messaging system, that there is something wrong with the monitored
# Redis systems.
#
# The script is called with just two arguments: the first is the event type
# and the second the event description.
#
# The script must exist and be executable in order for sentinel to start if
# this option is provided.
#
# Example:
#
# sentinel notification-script mymaster /var/redis/notify.sh
# CLIENTS RECONFIGURATION SCRIPT
#
# sentinel client-reconfig-script <master-name> <script-path>
#
# When the master changed because of a failover a script can be called in
# order to perform application-specific tasks to notify the clients that the
# configuration has changed and the master is at a different address.
#
# The following arguments are passed to the script:
#
# <master-name> <role> <state> <from-ip> <from-port> <to-ip> <to-port>
#
# <state> is currently always "failover"
# <role> is either "leader" or "observer"
#
# The arguments from-ip, from-port, to-ip, to-port are used to communicate
# the old address of the master and the new address of the elected slave
# (now a master).
#
# This script should be resistant to multiple invocations.
#

#
# sentinel client-reconfig-script mymaster /var/redis/reconfig.sh

Overview
========
The *Ceilometer Redis Plugin* installs `Redis <http://redis.io>`_ and
the `Tooz library <http://docs.openstack.org/developer/tooz/>`_, in a
Mirantis OpenStack (MOS) environment deployed by Fuel.
Both Redis and the Tooz library should be installed on all the controller
nodes of the environment. Starting from MOS 9.0, Ceilometer alarming service was
moved to the project called Aodh.
The *Ceilometer Redis Plugin* is used to provide coordination mechanisms to
enable the horizontal scaling of the Ceilometer/Aodh services. Using the plugin,
the Ceilometer/Aodh services are joined into a so-called **coordination group**,
which allows for resources and alarms sharding.
There is one coordination group per service type.
Please refer to the `Telemetry architecture
<http://docs.openstack.org/admin-guide/telemetry-system-architecture.html>`_
documentation for more information about the Ceilometer services.
In MOS 9.0, the *Ceilometer Redis Plugin* enables coordination
for both:
* The **ceilometer-agent-central service**.
The ceilometer-agent-central service is responsible for polling all the OpenStack resources,
excepted those of Nova, like the VM instances, that are polled by the **ceilometer-agent-compute**.
Without coordination, there can be only one ceilometer-agent-central running at a time.
This is because, by default, the ceilometer-agent-central works with an entire set of resources.
As such, running multiple ceilometer-agent-central without coordination would poll the entire
set of resources as many times as the number of agents running on the controller nodes every
polling interval. This is obviously not a proper way to scale out the ceilometer-agent-central.
To cope with this problem, the coordination mechanism provided
by the *Ceilometer Redis Plugin* allows distributing the polling workload
across multiple instances of the ceilometer-agent-central using disjoint sets
of resources.
* The **aodh-evaluator service**.
The **aodh-evaluator** service is responsible for evaluating the Ceilometer alarms.
By default, there is only one aodh-evaluator running per environment.
Without coordination, there can be only one aodh-evaluator running at a time.
This is because, as for the ceilometer-agent-central, the aodh-evaluator works
with an entire set of alarms. Running multiple aodh-evaluator
without coordination would evaluate all the alarms as many times as the number of evaluators
running on the controller nodes every evaluation interval. To cope with this problem,
the coordination mechanism provided by the *Ceilometer Redis Plugin* allows distributing
the alarms evaluation workload across multiple instances of the aodh-evaluator
using disjoint sets of alarms.
Please note that starting from MOS 8.0, the *Ceilometer Redis Plugin* doesn't provide support
(out-of-the-box) for the coordination of the **ceilometer-agent-notification** service because
it is not needed for the most common samples transformations.
.. note:: Before Liberty, the transformation of the samples was handled by the
**ceilometer-agent-compute** and the **ceilometer-agent-central** services.
In Liberty, the transformation of the samples was moved
to the **ceilometer-agent-notification** service, but after thorough performance analysis
of Ceilometer at scale, we discovered that this change has a bad impact on performance.
Starting from MOS 8.0, the transformations for the following list of measurements were moved back
to the ceilometer-agent-compute service.
* cpu_util
* disk.read.requests.rate
* disk.write.requests.rate
* disk.read.bytes.rate
* disk.write.bytes.rate
* disk.device.read.requests.rate
* disk.device.read.bytes.rate
* disk.device.write.bytes.rate
* network.incoming.bytes.rate
* network.outgoing.bytes.rate
* network.incoming.packets.rate
* network.outgoing.packets.rate
As a result, starting from MOS 8.0, there is no need to run the ceilometer-agent-notification
in coordination mode unless you need to maintain the transformation of custom samples that
are not listed above. In this case, it is possible to enable coordination for the
ceilometer-agent-notification service manually event though, it is not recommended
for performance reasons.
In addition to the above, the *Ceilometer Redis Plugin* configures *Pacemaker*
and `redis-sentinel <http://redis.io/topics/sentinel>`_
to enable **high availability** of the Redis cluster. Redis clustering includes:
* Monitoring the state of the **redis-server** processes
* Elect a new redis-server master during a failover
* Connect Ceilometer to the elected redis-server
* Organize the synchronization between Redis nodes

Limitations
-----------
* The *Ceilometer Redis Plugin* requires to install on an odd number of controller
nodes to work properly. This is because, Redis clustering requires an odd number of nodes
to avoid the split brain effect when electing a master.
* If you have any custom transformers you need to ensure that they are cache-less.
If transformation is cache-less, then there is no need to enable the coordination.
That is, based only on the ``unit_conversion`` transformer or the ``arithmetic`` transformers.
Otherwise, you will have to consider running only one instance of the ceilometer-agent-notification
service in your MOS environment or install the *Ceilometer Redis Plugin* and do all the
configuration manually.

User Guide
==========
Once the *Ceilometer Redis Plugin* is installed following the instructions of
the :ref:`Installation Guide`, you can create a Mirantis OpenStack (MOS) environment
with Ceilometer and Aodh whose **ceilometer-agent-central** and **aodh-evaluator**
services will work in **workload partitioned** mode.
This plugin was created to enable the scale-out of these Ceilometer/Aodh services.
It is useless and **shouldn't be used if Ceilometer and Aodh are not installed**.
Plugin Configuration
--------------------
To use the *Ceilometer Redis Plugin*, you need to `create a new MOS environment
<http://docs.openstack.org/developer/fuel-docs/userdocs/fuel-user-guide/create-environment.html>`_
with the `Telemetry service
<http://docs.openstack.org/admin-guide/telemetry.html>`_
(a.k.a Ceilometer) enabled and follow these steps using the *Fuel UI Wizard*.
1. Make sure that the plugin is properly installed on the Fuel Master node.
Go to the *Plugins* tab. You should see the following:
.. image:: images/redis-plugin-on9-0.png
:width: 100%
2. Enable the plugin.
Go to the *Environments* tab and select the *Redis plugin for Ceilometer* checkbox:
.. image:: images/redis-plugin-9-0.png
:width: 100%
3. Add nodes to your environment to which you will assign the **controller role**.
.. note:: When `adding nodes
<http://docs.openstack.org/developer/fuel-docs/userdocs/fuel-user-guide/configure-environment/add-nodes.html>`_
to the environment and `assign or change a role
<http://docs.openstack.org/developer/fuel-docs/userdocs/fuel-user-guide/configure-environment/change-roles.html>`_,
do not forget to use an odd number of controllers as mentioned in :ref:`Limitations` section.
4. `Verify your network configuration
<http://docs.openstack.org/developer/fuel-docs/userdocs/fuel-user-guide/configure-environment/verify-networks.html>`_.
5. `Deploy your changes
<http://docs.openstack.org/developer/fuel-docs/userdocs/fuel-user-guide/deploy-environment.html>`_
once you are done with the configuration of your environment.
Plugin Verification
-------------------
#. Check that the ceilometer-agent-central and aodh-evaluator services are running
on each controller.
Run ``http://docs.openstack.org/developer/fuel-docs/userdocs/fuel-user-guide/deploy-environment.html`. You should see the following in the output::
Clone Set: clone_p_ceilometer-agent-central [p_ceilometer-agent-central]
Started: [ node-21.domain.tld node-27.domain.tld node-33.domain.tld ]
Clone Set: clone_p_aodh-evaluator [p_aodh-evaluator]
Started: [ node-21.domain.tld node-27.domain.tld node-33.domain.tld ]
The *Started* list should contain all controllers.
#. For the ceilometer-agent-central, check that the samples are not duplicated.
For this check you may choose any metric collected by the ceilometer-agent-central.
All the Ceilometer metrics can be found in
`Measurements <http://docs.openstack.org/admin-guide/telemetry-measurements.html>`_ .
You may choose any section excepted *OpenStack Compute* and then select a metric with *Pollster Origin*.
For example, let's choose *storage.objects*.
The plugin **works correctly** if you see one sample for each resource type every
*polling interval* (1 minute in this example)::
root@node-2:~# ceilometer sample-list -m storage.objects -l 10| grep storage.objects
| 65e486c7... | storage.objects | gauge | 0.0 | object | 2015-11-05T10:32:27 |
| 65e486c7... | storage.objects | gauge | 0.0 | object | 2015-11-05T10:31:29 |
The plugin **works incorrectly** if there are duplicates. In this example, the plugin works
incorectly because there are three samples for the same resource type every *polling interval*::
root@node-2:~# ceilometer sample-list -m storage.objects -l 20| grep storage.objects
| 65e486c7... | storage.objects | gauge | 0.0 | object | 2015-11-05T10:27:37 |
| 65e486c7... | storage.objects | gauge | 0.0 | object | 2015-11-05T10:27:26 |
| 65e486c7... | storage.objects | gauge | 0.0 | object | 2015-11-05T10:27:17 |
| 65e486c7... | storage.objects | gauge | 0.0 | object | 2015-11-05T10:26:38 |
| 65e486c7... | storage.objects | gauge | 0.0 | object | 2015-11-05T10:26:26 |
| 65e486c7... | storage.objects | gauge | 0.0 | object | 2015-11-05T10:26:17 |
#. For the alarm evaluator, it is possible to see that everything works as expected
only from the logs::
# grep extract_my_subset /var/log/aodh/aodh-evaluator.log
There should be different *My subset: [* results for the aodh-evaluator instances.

Implement Redis installation and using it as a coordination backend
for ceilometer central agents
Problem description
===================
A detailed description of the problem:
* Currently there are several Ceilometer services which do not support workload
partitioning in MOS: central agent, alarm evaluator and agent notification. During
Juno release cycle workload partitioning for central agent was implemented.
In Kilo, partition coordination was introduced to alarm evaluator and agent
notification. In Liberty, coordination for notification agent was further improved.
Thus, it should be supported in MOS.
For this purpose we should provide tooz library support. This library is responsible for
coordination between services and supports several backends: zookeeper, redis, memcached.
Redis was chosen as the tooz backend in MOS.
Proposed change
===============
Support for Ceilometer services coordination is an experimental feature and it was
decided to implement it as a fuel plugin.
Its implementation requires the following things to be done:
* Implement Redis installation on controller nodes in HA mode
* Prepare Redis packages and their dependencies
* Enable partitioning in config for ceilometer central agents
* Enable partitioning in config for ceilometer alarm evaluator
* Enable partitioning in config for ceilometer notification agents
Installation diagram for central agent is below. The schemas for alarm-evaluator and
notification agent are similar

Alternatives
------------
* We may use MQ queues for task ditribution between the services. The problem is
that MQ is one of the most weak point in OpenStack now and it may be not safe
to make it responsible for HA and coordination.

Performance Impact
------------------

Performance should become better because the same amount of work will be

done using several workers

Other deployer impact
---------------------

Testing
=======
General testing approach:
* Environment with ceilometer in HA mode should be successfully deployed
* Redis cluster should be with one master and two slaves
* Ensure that after node with redis master was broken ceilometer services
can work with new redis master
Testing approach for central agent:
* Ceilometer should collect all enabled polling meters for deployed
environment
* Ensure that the sets of meters to be polled by each central agent are disjoint
* Ensure that after one central agent is broken, during the next polling
cycle all measurements will be rescheduled between two another,
and all of meters will be collected
Testing approach for alarm evaluator:
* Ensure that alarms can be successfully created
* Ensure that after one alarm evaluator is broken, during the next alarm evaluation
cycle all alarms will be rescheduled between two another for further evaluation
and all of alarms will be successfully evaluated
* Ensure that the sets of alarms for each alarm evaluator are disjoint
Testing approach for notification agent:
* Ensure that messages don't not stuck in notification.info queue
* Ensure that IPC queues are created in MQ, chech that list of IPC queues corresponds
to pipeline.yaml and each queue has the one consumer
* Ensure that after one alarm evaluator was broken, during the next alarm evaluation
cycle all alarms will be rescheduled between two another for further evaluation
and all of them will be successfully evaluated
Documentation Impact
====================
A Plugin Guide about redis plugin installation should be created.
Also, the document about ceilometer HA and partitioning should be done.
For validation and testing purpose, the test plan and test report should be provided.
