Tim Tisdall ba7ccbdc95 fix pdf rendering by removing unused .gif

It seems LaTeX doesn't support GIF files and that's what
readthedocs are using to generate the PDF versions of the docs.
So, removed the reference to the `.gif` file and deleted the unused
cruft.

Colander

An extensible package which can be used to:

deserialize and validate a data structure composed of strings, mappings, and lists.
serialize an arbitrary data structure to a data structure composed of strings, mappings, and lists.

It runs on Python 2.6, 2.7, 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4, and on current PyPy and PyPy3 versions.
